Second Bake Sale – Summary

Project Trust – Help Get Sophia To Nepal

I just wanted to let you all know that the bake sales in the foyer and staff room raised a massive £270! I couldn’t believe how generous both the pupils and staff were and am over the moon with how well the day went. Thanks to everyone that helped me out on the stalls both in the foyer and in the staff room – Alice, Danielle, Caitlin, Rebecca, Bethan, Lynsey, Sophie, Claire and Robbie. Pictures to come soon!

Thanks,

Sophia

I have spoken to the headteacher again today and will be allowed to hold a second school bake sale this Friday – the 27th of March at break time for both the pupils in the foyer, and teachers in the main staffroom. I hope to see you all there!

8 Mountains for 8 Months – Sponsored Climb

Project Trust – Help Get Sophia To Nepal

I have decided to attempt to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest during the summer holidays as I climb the highest 8 mountains in Scotland – one for each month I will be spending in Nepal. The total height (10 197m) will in fact slightly exceed that of Everest (8848m).

I will be climbing the following mountains:

  • Ben Nevis (1344m)
  • Ben Macdui (1309m)
  • Braeriach (1296m)
  • Cairn Toul (1291m)
  • The Angel’s Peak (1258m)
  • Cairn Gorm (1244m)
  • Aonach Beag (1234m)
  • Aonach Mor (1221m)

Hopefully, I will be able to talk my friends and family into helping me out and chumming me up each mountain. I will be posting pictures of me when I reach the each of the 8 summits. Please sponsor me and help me to fundraise for my voluntary project in Nepal at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/helpgetsophiatonepal or clicking on the ‘Donate’ button at the top of the page.

Thank you very much,

Sophia

First Bake Sale – Summary

Project Trust – Help Get Sophia To Nepal

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that helped out, bought cakes and donated this morning at the bake sale! I may have been up until 5.30 am but it was well worth the effort – it took me a total of 16 hours – 14 hours of baking and 2 hours of cleaning, and cost around £60. It was a huge success, everything sold out and I’m delighted to say we raised a total of around £150! (if all the promised IOUs make it to me) I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again soon!

Project Trust Bake Sale Baking Cookies upload

I have definitely learnt the importance of baking some of the goods in advance, having a float to start off the bake sale,  spreading out the baking over two tables so as to try to prevent the swarm that gathered around the table, to decorate the stand more so as to make it look more appealing and to display the food in different containers to make it easier for people to pick up their purchases.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and generosity in helping me on my way to becoming a volunteer teacher in Nepal next year!
